Merchant AccountsIf you already accept credit card payments at your place of business ... you'll need to decide if you want to have the transactions verified in real time when customers place online orders, or, if you want to use your current credit card authorization system and enter the transactions manually.
If you anticipate having less than 5 orders a day on your site to begin with, we recommend selecting the latter option. You can always upgrade later to real-time authorization, with very little hassle.
It is possible that your current merchant account vendor allows for online transactions. We can assist you in comparing the pricing offered by your current vendor with pricing from the vendors we work with.
The Application Process
If you are a new business, you will need to complete an application process through the financial institution you choose, and wait for approval of your account. The representative you talk with should explain the various options and types of accounts that are offered. The process usually takes 5-10 business days.
We will be happy to recommend a full service merchant account provider who will walk you through each step and answer your questions. As a point of reference,
here are the approximate fees you can expect to pay for a merchant account:
One Time Set up fee $100
Monthly fee $30
$.30 per transaction plus
2.35% of the total sale
